Overview
Collaborative Project
Bodolicious is a digital recipe and cultural platform dedicated to Bodo cuisine — an indigenous culinary tradition from the Bodo community of Northeast India. It was designed not merely as a recipe directory, but as a living cultural space where food, identity, and community converge.
The platform sits within BAATI — a parent brand and ecosystem housing multiple regional sub-brands including Nagalicious, Karbilicious, and others. Each sub-brand celebrates a distinct culinary heritage while sharing a unified visual and product language.
Problem
The rich culinary heritage of Northeast India is highly fragmented. Authentic recipes for indigenous dishes are typically passed down orally or buried in informal, hard-to-navigate blogs. For the diaspora missing the taste of home, or food enthusiasts exploring regional flavours, there is no centralized, beautifully designed digital space to discover and preserve these cultural treasures.
BAATI (translating to 'bowl' or 'vessel') is an umbrella digital ecosystem dedicated to indigenous recipes. We conceptualized the MVP around Bodolicious for Bodo cuisine, creating a scalable platform that acts as both a visual recipe repository and a social community hub, designed to easily adapt to future sub-brands like Nagalicious and Karbilicious.
BAATI is the parent brand that unifies a family of regional Northeast Indian cuisine platforms. A core design challenge was building Bodolicious as a fully-realised sub-brand — distinct in personality — while remaining coherent within the larger ecosystem. This required establishing a scalable brand architecture from the ground up.
